Tania Potts
Although her background encompasses both
business and art, Tania Potts’ soul is fulfilled in the visual and performing
arts. She express’s her creative visions through dance and photography.
Dancing since age 3, Ms. Potts has trained in classical ballet, tap, jazz, and
musical theatre. She has studied under Flossie Vogel, Dan Kaiser, Tony Parnell,
Tatiana Akinfieva-Smith, Teresa Emmons, and Judith Engelgau, in Dover, DE. Ms.
Tania continues to keep her training fresh by attending classes and summer
intensives located in the mid-Atlantic region. In 2008, Ms Potts earned and has
maintained the Dance Master’s Of America accreditation for both Ballet and Jazz
education. She has performed in everything from full length ballets to excerpts
from Broadway shows, to unique contemporary choreography.
As a dance educator and choreographer, Tania enjoys teaching all ages and
choreographing new works to different music genres. Ms Tania’s primary
concentration is the study and education of classical ballet and pointe.
However, her accomplishments stretch deep into jazz, tap, and musical theatre
disciplines as well. You can experience her creative talents throughout the
school year and in the summer at Miss Heather’s School of Dance, directed by
Heather Mitro located in Smyrna and Middletown, DE. She brings her
creativity, knowledge, and professionalism to local studios, visual and
performing art organizations, and to various theatre based private and high
school programs.
In addition to dance, Ms. Potts enjoys capturing aspects of life through
photography and draws inspiration from all she encounters. The greatest
education Ms. Tania has found comes from hard work, dedication, and life
experience. Tania’s life and spirit are enriched by her students and energized
by her own passion and dedication to the visual and performing arts.
Ms. Tania has also choreographed and danced in our 2008 Mary Poppins production,
2009 Movie Marathon production, 2010 production of Shrek and 2011 Miss Heather’s
